Monday Ramble, Trees, Existential Dread & Krampus Saves Halloween.

Happy Monday!

We had a family dinner yesterday -the third one in two weeks- and it was a hoot! Lots of laughs, silly dancing and singing, kids and dogs -well, DOG- racing around my teeny tiny house, and of course delicious food! I’m still enjoying the whipped cream my daughter in law brought over!

I take my coffee with whipped cream from now on, ha!

Have you tried Coconut Whipped Cream? It comes in a can like the regular ready whipped stuff and it’s DAMN GOOD!

I’ve got troubling news 😦

My old boy, Mooshum is starting to have major mobility problems. Now he’s always been hitchy. We think he was hit by a car when he was younger and the injury healed screwy because he most likely didn’t get veterinary care. (He’s from an under funded community originally and was a free range dog) Plus, he’s part Golden and Goldens are known for their hip dysplasia and such. So there’s that. He’s also 14 years old or so. So there’s that too! But the other day things really went down hill for him after our walk.

He lost the ability to rise up and when he did finally get his legs under him, his limp was pronounced. It was obvious he was struggling and in pain. Gah! We actually had to lift him up to standing a few times. I’ve massaged him and laid my hands on him and given him some emergency meds. It’s all helped and he seems stable for now. BUT I think the time has come to talk to the vet about maintenance pain meds for my boy.

Then after that…well, we’re one step closer to his death, me thinks. I wont let him suffer. He’s one tough MOFO, that’s for sure but there will come a day…and that day is coming soon. 😦

Grief is the price we pay for love.

If there ever was a dog who deserves to die in his sleep, its this boy. I don’t pray but every night I ask the Universe to take him from us gently in the night over anything else. It is my fondest wish at the moment ❤

Beautiful Boy.

That Douglas!

The big freeze is on its way. We’ve still got some leaves on our trees but soon they’ll be gone! Anything after Halloween is weather that means business, but the weather has been most lovely these past weeks! I hope it continues. I want to take my granddaughter to this trail I found this weekend. We were stalked by hungry chickadees who had no problem landing on our outstretched hands. Squee! I’m coming back with seeds -or else! Have you ever been bit by a chickadee? I have, ha ha it was hilarious but I’ve learned my lesson!

Ha!
Get out of here Santa! And don’t come back until after Remembrance Day.

Ha! More like 8 years. Although I’m in the uphill climb now.

My personal circus and monkeys have calmed their shit. THANK YOU GODDESS! It’s still a challenge to live in this world but it’s a challenge for most people. So there’s that 😉 We’re all in this together right?!

❤ ❤ ❤ ❤

I hope you breathtaking people have the most amazing week!

Monday Ramble, Leaves, Eating ALL THE THINGS!

Happy Monday! How was your weekend? Did you get up to anything fun? Tell me all about it!

Mine started off with a bang! Well, actually mine started off with a baby and a friend. I met my pal for coffee and got to meet (and cuddle) her new baby boy. He is the sweetest little guy and while I’m not interested in having any more of my own body, biology had me aching for him. I miss him still, lol. Give me all the babies!

Saturday had me shopping for home security stuff because on Thursday evening, two young people broke into the neighbours house. They walked up to the front door boldly like they owned the place. I dashed out quickly to investigate but they got themselves into the house lickety split! Another neighbour took over from there and they were caught but still…UGH! So the Hubs and I did some stuff to our doors and my house is now near impossible to get into -without making a huge racket- I feel slightly better about it and am grateful the assholes inspired us to upgrade some things but still…it makes me SO mad. Over the next couple of paydays we’re going to light this place up and get a few cameras. Just try and get in here…just try it! It sure does feel satisfying when I lock my doors now, ha! “Ker-chunk” go the deadbolts. I love it!

II made this lovely thing:

Parmesan Zucchini Bread. You can get the recipe HERE. It turned out pretty good! I was so proud of how pretty I made it. We were supposed to have it with Chicken Corn Chowder for dinner but we ended up having A&W at 3pm SO I couldn’t bring myself to make the soup after all! The Gouda Buddy Burger was technically my second lunch so yeah…you’ve gotta draw a line somewhere! I did have a slice of bread, slathered thickly with butter for an evening snack though. Yum! My brain is going crazy with all the cool combinations I could do using this recipe as a base. I seem to get really creative in the kitchen this time of year. I made Peanut Butter Banana Brownies the other day….

Fall is such a cheerful time. Haa!
@ me & Sarah.

Seriously, that’ll do it! Will swoon for food.

The weather is still most lovely here! I think it’s supposed to be 16C today and the leaves are still their colourful, gorgeous selves on all the trees..It looks like this is the last real day of awesome weather so I’ll be spending today finishing up the garden stuff.

I hope your Monday is AMAZING and please, enjoy the heck out of your week ❤

Monday Ramble, Autumn, Earth & Farming.

Happy Monday! And Happy Mid- Autumn! While the rest of those in the Northern Hemisphere are celebrating the start of Fall, those of us in the know and anyone paying attention, realize today is actually, truly, really the middle of the season. More on this in another post!

Hermit mode: Activated!

The dying light is having its usual effect on my brain but I’m doing pretty good all things considering. How are you doing?

I’ve got some Halloween decorations up and that’s really helping my mood. I ADORE Halloween. We don’t get many kids but still, I want to keep the tradition alive for the ones who want it. Plus, Halloween decorations match my home décor, so it’s like I’m giving my house a whole refresh too!

What? You don’t keep up your owls, spiders and tombstones year round?

I’m all excited because the Hubs- who has been home ALL LAST WEEK- is back off to work. It was nice to operate at a slower pace but it’s also nice to go back to my usual routine. I did somehow score a HUGE win out of things; he’s onboard with trying snowshoeing this Winter. BE STILL MY BEATING HEART! This man hates hiking and while in the spirit of honesty I pointed out that snowshoeing was really just hiking on extra equipment he’s pshawed me away and said he’s “in” so…yeah, I’m holding him to that!

I may just get him into thru hiking yet!

If there’s anything left to hike through.

WORD!

But then there’s this to worry about:

I mean, it’s not a lie.

Have a great week ❤

I’m excited for today! It seems like it’s been AGES since I wrote up a Monday post. Plus, I just adore Mondays.

How was your weekend? What did you get up to?

Mine started on Friday when I took the “day off” and did my very own thing. I went to the Spring Craft Sale at the Butterdome.

WOW, what an event! There were so many quality artisans selling their wares and I bought some nice things for Lune- I’ll showcase them as I open them soon – I had a great time, chatting with the vendors and popping in and out of the stalls, in awe of all the talent in this world.

On Saturday, I puttered around the house and spent the afternoon watching The Kentucky Derby,

THAT was a whole THING! What an ending…yikes! The Hubs and I went out for dessert and spent the night watching Netflix.

And then on Sunday, I enjoyed a lazy morning , drinking coffee and playing online Mahjong, and spent the afternoon, weeding, interspersed with a grandbaby visit! ❤ I saw two worms *shudder AND my asparagus is poking up! Woot Woot! I thought it’d never grow. It had me worried…
but worry no more!

Today, I’ll be out weeding again and I can’t wait! A day spent outside just feels so good. Like a day fully lived.

Here are our Monday Memes:

I’m a little late with this one but still…it has me laughing like a lunatic!

Haaahaaahaaa!

This one appeals to the introvert in me :

Teehee

And lastly, some silly fun!

I’m looking forward to the rest of the week. I’ve got an event to attend with friends and our weather is supposed to start warming up too. Maybe I’ll see my own worker bees 🙂

I hope your Monday is just the ginchiest! ❤

Rambles, Cats, Billy Idol & WTF?

Good Morning/Afternoon/Evening!

Happy Monday!

I’m feeling a little squeamish this morn. We had a busy weekend full of grandkids and other humans. Oh and draaaaaama! We had some drama.

So that’s always draining. I feel some ick but that’s OK because I know it will fade AND because I handled it all really well. High Five @ Me! I might just be growing up!

( I’m probably never going to grow up)

It’s totally a trap!

This next one has me laughing like a loon…

Bwaahaahaahaa!

Teehee. Can confirm.

Do you have any plans for today? Oh! Work. I hear work is a thing! Ive been off for so long I forget that the rest of the world doesn’t just laze about all day. ( I don’t actually laze about all day but I do struggle with feeling unproductive because I’m not at a j.o.b. )

Love & Squishy Hugs!

Happy Monday!

Do you need some motivation to get active? I’ve got your motivation right here :

Number 1, 4 and 5 are my personal favourites, ha ha.

Seriously. Don’t be mean to my cat. Or any cat.

Teehee. He wants to be a web designer. I laughed like a lunatic over this one because I am a dork.

I hope your week involves something fun, something peaceful and something rewarding.

Rambles and Dying.

Happy Monday!

I am just catching up with everyone and everything! I was at a very intensive course in End-of- Life- Care, all last week. I enjoyed every minute of it but it was absolutely exhausting!

Every night I went home just brain dead. The topic is heavy as it is, and I was hyper focussed on taking it all in. Absorbing as much as I could. There was a huge variety of different people there and I wanted to get to know them all as best I could.

I made my friends straight away, and it’s like we’ve known each other for YEARS! How beautiful is that? There was a flip side to that too, which I find hilarious! There are always a few in every crowd! People are so queer. Myself included, of course.

The course was good and I’ve got so much to do but I’m happy and content and confident with the direction my life is heading. Plus I got to try something out!

Roomy!

We did an exercise with a cardboard coffin. It was awesome! How many people get to try out such a thing while they’re still alive?!

Here are our Monday Memes!

HA! @ Me. I try. OH how I try but I just can’t keep indoor plants alive.

*snort! It must be so annoying…

Right?! Ya don’t have to tell me twice ;P

Enjoy the heck out of your week! Love and Squishy Hugs.
